Editorial Reviews:

Secret Files: Tunguska recreates a mystery and dares you to solve it, in a new point-and-click adventure. In July of 1908, the Siberian region of Tunguska saw an inferno that turned everything into debris and ashes. The entire land was devastated in a matter of seconds; the blast's impact was felt thousands of kilometers away from the source. This phenomenon remains unexplained to this day. With its unique mysterious setting, spectacular graphics, and innovative puzzles, The Secrets Files: Tunguska sets the stage for intrigue, drama, and a deep conspiracy to uncover. Nina is torn from her day-to-day routine when she discovers that her father has disappeared without a trace. As the police seem reluctant to help her, Nina sets off to look for clues relating to her father's whereabouts. She joins efforts with Max Gruber, a young colleague of her father who impulsively offers to help the attractive young lady.

Summary: qrafically done well - not good enough to get into the mood of the game if there is any
Comment: Tunguska intrigued me with it's well done scenes. They look believable and have the stuff for creating a great mood. However - the dialogues and monologues of the characters are so catastrophic that they erase the mood that the scenes try to develop, and therewith the player's ability to actually get into the game. It is not very difficult as far as solving the puzzles (it has a little help that shows what items can be looked at etc - that makes it very easy if one chooses to use this aid). But in the end it is not a game that I will think about with enthousiastic joy - thinking THAT was a great game - rather - it will be the opposite.
The great effort put into animation and graphics would actually deserve at least 4 out of 5 stars. The motion of the characters is animated well - especially when movie sequences are being played.
I am not certain if the German version manages to support and enhance the game's mood with the German dialogues rather than destroy it.
Don't waste your time and money - at least not for the English version.

Summary: there is not enough suspension of disbelief on the planet to play Tunguska
Comment: Overall a well deisgned game with excellent graphics, Tunguskas fell to 3 stars because of a weak story and a poor finale (I will let slide the obnoxious dialog esp. the main characther). Too bad there is talent in the programmers team, maybe next time...

Summary: A good effort with some annoying flaws
Comment: This game was a good effort. It had a decent story line and characters that you could have felt for, but didn't mostly because the voice acting was so HORRENDOUS! The main character Nina sounds like, you know, one of those, like, you know, annoying stereotypical teenagers, who, like, are such total airheads. I know this games is labeled for teens, but do we have to treat them like idiots? I can't imagine a teen not rolling their eyes at this game because it became ridiculous. Also, the lines are very bad. Now I understand this game was translated, but who did the voicing? Inmates at an insane asylum? If I were reading some of these lines, I would have said something about the form or the very bad choice of certain words, just so my name wouldn't be associated with a bad production. Still, some bad lines are forgivable. Oh, and there is some profanity. Not much (mostly at the end), just the excrement one, but I found it's use jarring and a bit disturbing given the overall atmosphere of the game (no doubt some Hollywood worshiper wanting to make this seem "more real and gritty")

The problems in this game were also a point of annoyance. About half made some kind of sense, the rest were just trial and error or a quick read through a walk through. This made it very annoying to play, as I would find myself stopping to check a walk through because the answer was so improbable (or impossible) that I just couldn't figure it out. I'm talking some serious stretching of logic, if not outright silliness.Often the main character is standing in front of a smaller hot spot you need to solve a puzzle, so you have to move her over, then click again on the tiny specific hot spot. I also had trouble identifying these smaller hot spots in a puzzle (ex. you could click on a door and the keyhole) & getting the clicks placed just right so I could activate it.

As for the story itself, it had a lot of potential, but seemed to have fallen short. I stopped being curious about halfway through, but that could have been because I was so annoyed by the main character's voice & frustrated by the puzzles (which were mostly stupid). About the only time I enjoyed myself was when I could play as the secondary character & I attribute that to his voice, which wasn't annoying and did have some ability to convey some emotion.

Overall, I can't really recommend this game unless you are immune to the annoying voice. I got this in that Adventure Pack that comes with 5 games, and that's the only way I would buy this one. It's not worth wasting $10. There is supposed to be a sequel and if they learn from the last & correct the major blunders, then I would happily try it, which is why I've given this one 3 stars instead of 2.

Summary: Do You Like A Challenge?
Comment: Well, ya going to get it here with Tunguska Game. The puzzles are not that easy for a 60 yr old but lots of fun. Graphics are nice and story is well written. I enjoyed this game and had lots of quality time fun playing it.

Summary: Best Adventure Game I've Ever Played
Comment: I thought it was great! The graphics and plot were good. The main character's voice was a little annoying, but not too much. Most of the puzzles were relatively easy, except for a few here and there that made no sense. The ending was a little disappointing, but still worth it.

Overall, I'd say it was wonderful. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the second one.
