This DVD is featured by original recording of the musical and NOT digitally re-mastered The musical Joan of Ark is based on a legend of French national heroine and it became the biggest event of Prague musical scene of the year 2000. Original contempory music uses medieval techniques, inspired by poetic libretto. Also, but not only, thanks to the fact that many Czech pop stars took part in the show, the musical gained unusual acceptance by the Czech audience but also the critics. ... The famous Czech singer Lucie Bila was awarded a prestigious price for her leading role as Joan of Arc by the Czech Artists and the Theatre Association "Thalie" in the year 2001. The show Joan of Arc was invited to bring the show to the Cardiff First World Musical Festival in October 2002. The success of the musical in Cardiff proved that the show is able to touch and please also the international audience.

Customer Rating: Summary: A Wonderful DVD on Joan Of Arc !!! Comment: Ohhh, Myyyyyy, Gooooooooodness! This DVD is Awesome!! Very Wonderful!!! If you've not seen this DVD, do all you can to see it. TIPS for US & Canada viewers: the dvd player on your computer should be able to play it, but be careful not to switch between Regions 1 & 2 or so more than 5 times - actually 4 times, since your drive is already set to Region 1. It will allow you 4 more switches, and no more. Luckily, however, the last & 5th time should end up where you started - Region 1. Happy viewing! Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing Performance Comment: This performance of Joan of Arc is absolutely amazing. The staging is intelligent, the choreography is first rate, and the acting is superb. Lucie Bila is so believable as Joan, so heartwarming and so compelling. Her physical presence and her singing ability makes you feel like you were really there, right along with her. The music is haunting and uplifting, and it breathes so much life into the story. This production was a huge hit in the Czech Republic, and I wish it could tour here in the U.S. I loved this DVD so much I bought a region-free DVD player, just so I could watch it. This DVD is simply awesome!
