Customer Rating: Summary: The best one yet! Comment: Excellent CD. I bought the tape when it first came out and have purchased a few more for doctor's to use in their offices. I love to walk in and hear doctor's offices playing it and everyone is very relaxed!! This is special!I play it for my clients to unwind and all have commented how much they enjoy the ambient music as well. Very soothing!
Customer Rating: Summary: ***EXQUISITE***A MUST HAVE*** Comment: This title was recommended to me by AMAZON & (due to its' beautiful & enigmatic cover of Mona Maris) I decided to buy it. I knew that at the least I would enjoy it. It's turned out to be one of my favorite recordings of instrumental music. Listening to it makes me escape to another realm, a place of tranquility & introspection, not to mention bliss. It's impelled me to buy other of Hoppe's & Weather's CD's.
Customer Rating: Summary: My favorite Comment: Purchased this CD as replacement for a casette tape of same I had for several years. Very moving music. Reaches into your heart and rips it right out. I use this to paint to, and I've used it to heal to when under radiation treatments, and I use it to meditate or fall asleep also.
Customer Rating: Summary: Soothing & Stimulating at the Same Time Comment: I read about this CD in a book by Julia Cameron. She wrote that when she needs to feel safe and secure, this is what she cues up to set the mood. Since I so enjoy having her as my own personal creative therapist (through her books), I decided to give Hoppe a try. Julia was right-again. The combination of quiet synthesizers and a luminous flute, with simple melodies that gently lead your soul, is a welcome respite from a noisy world. I found the music set my mind free to wander or just float freely. There's a fascinating backstory to this collection of compositions as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Stunning, beautiful, transformational Comment: I don't take the time to write many reviews, but for this I will. A few times in my life I've heard music that made me stop what I was doing and pay attention, and this is one of those times. It's beautiful beyond description. This is not your typical flute music. It's wonderfully mellow, soulful, and passionate, with a deep feeling to it, a heart. Made me tear up. It also made me relax.
This is a very intimate recording, giving you the feeling of being there. If you listen closely, you can occasionally hear the breathing of the flutist. Far from detracting from the recording, it enhances it by reminding you of the humanity behind the music.
All 12 songs on the CD are excellent. It's a very consistent performance. And if you like it, a companion CD, "The Dreamer, Romances for Alto Flute, Volume 2," is ever bit as good.
